Emergency Information

There are many resources available on Picnic Day in the event of an emergency.

Lost Children's Booth

If you should become separated from your child, please contact the nearest information booth, event staff member, or law enforcement officer. If you should come across a lost child, please escort them to the nearest information booth and/or contact any event staff member. Lost children will be escorted to the Picnic Day Headquarters, located in the East Conference Room, on the first floor of the Memorial Union building. Please stop by our Headquarters or any of our information booths to register your child to aid in reuniting if you should become separated.

If you or adults in your party become separated, please utilize our Central Meeting Place, located at the flag pole on the south patio next to the quad. Pencils, paper, and a bulletin board will be provided to leave information for your party.

Tag-a-Kid

This is a free program being offered to children ages 10 and younger. Please stop by the Lost Children's Booth and get a wristband for your child. Your child will wear a wristband asking individuals if they are lost to escort them to the Lost Children's Booth and contains an individualized serial number. This serial corresponds to the serial number on the contact card you will fill out when your register your child. Information on the card will include: Parent's Name, Child's Name, Age, Description, and Contact Information for the parents. This will aid us in rapidly reuniting your family together if you should become separated. It will also aid us in getting a description out if your child is missing. In times of crisis, parents sometimes have a hard time remembering what their child was wearing, and this will provide us that info if you can not recall it in such an emergent situation.

First Aid

Emergency Medical Services

Our central First Aid Station will be on the East Quad, directly across from North and South Halls. This first aid station will operate from 8AM - 6PM and will be staffed by AMR ambulance service personnel. AMR will also be providing roving medical coverage on campus and can provide advance life support services and will be capable of transporting patients to local hospitals as needed. Our central First Aid Station will be relocated to the Griffin Lounge, first floor Memorial Union building, in the event of rain.

First responder basic life support is also provided by the UC Davis Fire Department. Fire personnel are trained and equipped to provide initial emergency response assistance for injuries and/or medical situations of an emergency nature. If additional attention and/or treatment is deemed advisable, assistance will be obtained through AMR ambulance service.

In a clearly life-threatening situation, 9-1-1 may be utilized. If you are unable to get to a phone, you are advised to contact an event staff member and ask for assistance in alerting emergency service personnel.
Security Services

Campus security is provided by the UC Davis Police Department. If you have a life threatening emergency, please dial 9-1-1. Cell Phone users may dial 530.752.1234 to reach the campus police & fire department. If you are unable to reach a phone, please contact the nearest information booth and/or event staff member and ask them for assistance in alerting emergency services.
