What if it rains? Is Picnic Day cancelled?
Nope! Picnic Day is a RAIN or SHINE event!
Is Picnic Day free or do I have to RSVP to attend?
Picnic Day is a FREE event! No reservations necessary!
Can I bring my dog to Picnic Day?
Yes! Visitors are more than welcome to bring their dogs to enjoy Picnic Day as well, however please note that pets are not permitted in buildings where it is marked that they are prohibited, except for service animal. All pets brought to Picnic Day must be leashed.
How do I sign up for the Doxie Derby?
To sign up for the Doxie Derby or to find more information about it, please visit the Doxie Derby website.
What time does the parade start?
The parade opening ceremonies kick off at 9:00.
Where can I park on Picnic Day? Is it free to park all day?
You can park in any of the available open lots. It is FREE for parking all day. There are several lots that are designated for parade use that are not available for visitors to park in. Please visit the Parking & Directions page for more details.
Where do the events on Picnic Day take place on campus?
The events on Picnic Day cover the entirety of the campus, a map of which can be found both online and in the Schedule of Events handed out on the day of Picnic Day. The parade makes its way around campus and into downtown.
Where does the Battle of the Bands take place?
Battle of the Bands takes place at Spafford Lake (at the Arboretum). This is the last event of the day, and Picnic Day is technically officially over when the last band finishes its set.
Where can I purchase a Picnic Day t-shirt?
Picnic Day t-shirts are for sale at the Picnic Day Bookstore, Corral at the Silo, and the ARC Pro Shop.
Are there tours available for incoming freshman on Picnic Day?
No, the Picnic Day Directors do not offer tours on Picnic Day. Please contact Visitor Services for information on tours.
