Board
The Board of Directors is comprised of 15 student directors, each responsible for a certain aspect of Picnic Day, and their teams of assistant directors.

Chair

Amanda is a fourth-year Community and Regional Development major, with a minor in Statistics. She solidified her choice to go to UC Davis after attending Picnic Day during her senior year of high school, and since then, she has deemed herself a Picnic Day Enthusiast. Amanda joined the board freshman year as an Assistant Director for the Children’s Discovery Fair, became Entertainment Director the following year, and ventured on to Vice Chair for a virtual Picnic Day experience in 2020. This year, she is excited to take on the role of Chair and create the first in-person Picnic Day in two years! On Picnic Day, Amanda always looks forward to the Doxie Derby and finding Bunrock!

Jesse is a second-year Economics major, with a minor in Technology Management. Jesse first joined Picnic Day as a Business Assistant Director during his first year at Davis. Jesse is looking forward to implementing new health and safety procedures to ensure that Picnic Day can operate safely for all the students, faculty, families, and other guests. Jesse’s favorite event is the cockroach races and Doxie Derby. When Jesse is not working on Picnic Day, he enjoys spending his free time venturing in nature or playing with his retired show-cat, Lizzy.

Adrianne Daniels is a third-year Animal Science major specializing in Animal Behavior. This year is her first year at UC Davis and this year’s Picnic Day will be her first ever! Adrianne is really looking forward to participating in the events this year and meeting new people.

Anavi is a third-year Managerial Economics major, with a minor in Technology Management. This is Anavi’s first year working for Picnic Day and she is eager to lead a team of assistant directors and make an impact on them through her leadership. She is excited to meet new people through this position and get more involved on campus by playing a part in bringing people together. She looks forward to voicing students’ perspectives through this position and aims to make the most of her first in-person Picnic Day by performing a key role in bringing the event together.

Children’s Discovery Fair

Oshiogwe Nash-Haruna is a second-year double majoring in Political Science and Economics. She is originally from Charleston, SC, but she lives up North in Washington State! She is looking forward to everything Picnic Day has to offer as it is one of the biggest events in Davis. Outside of Picnic Day, she is also part of the Black Pre-Law Society, Ethnic and Cultural Affairs Commission, and Ignite! On the day of Picnic Day, Oshiogwe is especially looking forward to the Parade as it is her favorite event!

Entertainment

Brittney is a third-year Managerial Economics major, with a minor in Public Health. She first joined Picnic Day during her first-year as an Animal Assistant Director. She decided to join again this year as the Entertainment Director upon returning in person because she wants to make the most of her experience and enjoys planning large events. She joined Picnic Day specifically because she wants to be more involved in the Davis community and what better way than by helping plan the largest event at Davis! She is looking forward to experiencing and helping plan her very first in-person Picnic Day since attending UC Davis.

Megan is a third-year Communication major with minors in Economics and Technology Management. She first got involved with the Picnic Day Board as a Vice Chair Assistant Director during her freshman year, and has enjoyed being part of the team ever since. She joined Picnic Day because she wanted to be part of an impactful, fun organization. This year, Megan is excited to bring Exhibits back to campus and see the UC Davis community come together. Outside of Picnic Day, you can find her working as a Peer Advisor at the Internship and Career Center or teaching English classes at the International House Davis.

Murielle is a fourth-year double majoring in both Human Development and Design, with an emphasis in Graphic Design. She started out her Picnic Day journey her first year in college as a Parade Assistant Director. She was instantly drawn to the vibrant, welcoming community and has been coming back ever since! Davis was her dream school, so she knew that coming in, she wanted to take part in the community and give back to it. Picnic Day has been one of the organizations that Murielle has taken part in during her time at Davis and it has been one of the most impactful experiences to her growth as an individual.

Janani is a second-year Managerial Economics major from the Bay Area. She is looking forward to making sure that the first in-person Picnic Day in nearly three years runs smoothly and safely for all participants. Janani is also looking forward to meeting new people and participants in all the events!

Michael Navarro is a second-year Psychology & Political Science--Public Service double major, with a minor in Spanish. He is originally from Delhi, a small town located in the Central Valley where agricultural life strives similar to Davis. This year is Michael’s first ever Picnic Day and is excited to coordinate the first Picnic Day Parade in nearly 2 years! Michael intends to work hard to make the Picnic Day Parade one of the best events and cannot wait for the Davis community to see this in play. He first worked with Picnic Day Board as an adopted senator during his term as an ASUCD Senator. He enjoyed it so much that this year, he wanted to work with Picnic Day more in depth and assist in the behind-the-scenes planning.

Alexis is a fourth-year Managerial Economics major, with an emphasis in Business Economics. She first got involved with the Picnic Day Board as a Publicity Assistant Director during her freshman year, and has enjoyed being a part of such a wonderful team. She joined Picnic Day because she was excited to be a part of one of the biggest events at UC Davis and loved the welcoming community behind the event. This opportunity has also helped her meet new people and develop new skills. Alexis loves how Picnic Day embodies what UC Davis is all about and is able to bring the UC Davis community together with families, friends, locals, and many more. This year, Alexis is looking forward to continuing her work with the Publicity team and seeing what new ideas come to life!

Kimberlee is a third-year majoring in Statistics. This year is Kimberlee’s first year participating in Picnic Day and she is super excited to be a part of one of the largest events at UC Davis! She is looking forward to uniting students and community members for a day of fun and entertainment. Her goal is to bring families and friends together to create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

Shlok is a third-year Computer Science major. As a Transfer student, this will be Shlok’s first year working for Picnic Day, and he is excited to lead a team of assistant directors and make an impact on them via his leadership. He joined the Picnic Day team due to the exhilaration that is complimentary to being part of the nation’s largest student-run event, one that brings the UC Davis community together. Shlok looks forward to meeting new people through the Picnic Day team and aspires to play an important role in making this joyous occasion a successful one.

Mali is a fourth-year Communication and Design double major. Since high school, Mali has always enjoyed working with others to bring a project to life; loving not only the sweat and tears that go into it, but the fun times that make it worthwhile! She is looking forward to experiencing Picnic Day from behind the scenes and hopes to catch a Doxie Derby race! In addition to being on the Board of Directors for Picnic Day, Mali is also the Special Events Director for Open Ceilings Magazine and was a former UC Davis Tour Guide.
