Does Picnic Day offer accommodation?

Is parking free on the day of Picnic Day?
Parking is free and available at all lots except those that are reserved for Picnic Day use.
Is there a time limit for parking on campus?
There is no time limit for parking on campus.
How much does it cost to take Unitrans?
It will cost $1 per person with the exception of Senior and Disabled riders. Please be prepared to pay the fare, because student IDs, passes, and 10-ride tickets are not accepted for fares on Picnic Day. The $1 cash fare also applies to the V-line on Picnic Day.
Why do I have to pay to ride Unitrans on Picnic Day?
The fare is being charged to pay for added police presence required on Picnic Day.
Where can you take the Unitrans (Bus Stops)?
You can board the Unitrans bus on campus at the Memorial Union Terminal.
Can I get a permit for parking?
Only event participants approved by the Board of Directors will receive these permits. Please consult the respective event director. If you have any further questions, you can contact Beverly Yee, the Transportation Director, or UCD Transportation Services (TS) at (530) 752-8277 OR visit the TS website.
Is there free parking Downtown?
All lots should have handicap parking available.
What is TS? Where is TS?
TS stands for Transportation Services. They handle all of UC Davis’s transportation and parking for everyday events.
They are located next to Hutchison Field and Pavilion Parking structure .
Where can I get help when there is a problem with my car?
Transportation Services offers a complementary motorist assistance program. Call (530) 752- TAPS.
How heavy is traffic?
The majority of traffic is usually located near the MU area, especially around 9:00AM.
To avoid traffic, try parking at Lots 1, 2, 5, or 47.
Near the end of the day from 3PM to 5PM, heavy traffic builds up at the Pavilion Parking Structure on the West side of the campus.
Can RV’s park overnight, and where can they park?
There is no overnight parking.
There is parking available in downtown areas and surrounding neighborhoods.
How often do shuttles run and where do they go?
Shuttles run hourly and they serve various UCD campus destinations and parking lots, including the Equestrian Center, Aggie Stadium, and the Mondavi Center.
Can you get rides from the Gators or Golf Carts?
Gators and Golf carts are reserved only for Picnic Day staff and affiliates who require to move across campus to keep the event running throughout the day. Please refrain from requesting a ride.
