About Picnic Day
What is Picnic Day?
Picnic Day is believed to be the largest student-run event in the nation. It is UC Davis’ annual open house with hundreds of events.
What day is Picnic Day?
The 108th Picnic Day will be on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 on the UC Davis campus.
When does Picnic Day start?
Picnic Day officially begins with the parade opening ceremony at 9:30AM, followed by the parade at 10:00AM. Most Picnic Day-run events start at 9:00AM and end before 5:00PM.
Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome to attend Picnic Day! There will be exciting events for all ages.
What events will be happening?

Will I be able to volunteer for Picnic Day this year?
Yes. Picnic Day will start hiring volunteers in the Winter Quarter. Email volunteer@picnicday.ucdavis.edu if you are interested in volunteering for next year’s Picnic Day.

Will Picnic Day be in-person or virtual?
The 108th Annual Picnic Day is planned to be an in-person event on April 23rd, 2022.
I am a student organization, a UC Davis student, a campus department, or a local Davis business. How can I participate?
Each year, we release a number of applications for different participant groups sometime between November and January. Email info@picnicday.ucdavis.edu if you are interested in participating in Picnic Day 108.

I’m a UC Davis undergraduate student. How can I help plan Picnic Day?
How will Picnic Day operate safely in-person with COVID-19 restrictions?
Picnic Day will adhere to all campus-ready guidelines which can be found here: campusready.ucdavis.edu/status/event-guidance.
Will masks be required?
Following campus guidelines, face coverings are strongly recommended and required in public transit, healthcare settings and when visiting the testing kiosks at the ARC and Healthy Davis Together locations.
Will I have to show my UC Davis Daily symptom survey?
Please be prepared to show an approved UC Davis Daily Symptom Survey for entrance into some indoor events. For those who are not UC Davis students or employees, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test from the last 72 hours may also be required. Screening is at the discretion of individual exhibits and animal events. For more information, refer to picnicday.ucdavis.edu/know-before-you-go/.
Will I have to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test?
Please be prepared to show an approved UC Davis Daily Symptom Survey for entrance into some indoor events. For those who are not UC Davis students or employees, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test from the last 72 hours may also be required. Does Picnic Day provide disability accommodations?
UC Davis is committed to making Picnic Day accessible to persons with disabilities. If you need an accommodation to participate in this event because of a disability, please contact the Picnic Day Chair, Amanda Portier, no later than Monday, March 25, 2022 with information regarding the requested accommodation via email at chair@picnicday.ucdavis.edu.
Can I get rides from Picnic Day staff?
Campus vehicles are reserved only for Picnic Day staff and affiliates who require moving across campus to keep the event running throughout the day. Please refrain from requesting a ride.

Can I access virtual Picnic Day 2021?
Yes! Last year’s virtual Picnic Day can be found on the Picnic Day website here: picnicday.ucdavis.edu/virtual.
How long will the virtual Picnic Day 2021 content be up for?
All asynchronous content will be up for the foreseeable future. The virtual content will be up till 2022’s Picnic Day.
