The UC Davis Design Museum presents an exhibition to showcase the original comic artworks from the pioneering father/daughter cartoonists duo Brumsic Brandon, Jr. (one of the first African Americans to have a nationally syndicated comic strip in the U.S. [Luther (1968-1986)]) and Barbara Brandon-Croft (the first African American woman to have a nationally syndicated comic strip in the country [Where I'm Coming From (1989-2005)]). This exhibit explores the multiple themes that are shared between both artists’ portfolios even though their works were published decades apart.
